My English blog

Since Pn Monica asked us to write about our English blog, sure, I am writing one blog about my English blog now. I should be sleeping because tomorrow is Monday and it is always a tiring day but you got to do what you got to do, writing blogs, of course.

Writing English blogs has been quite fun for me although sometimes it feels like a chore because it just takes too much time to think of an interesting topic to write about ( I am looking at you, free topics). Sometimes it even allows me to write whatever I feel like writing and that is a good thing because I don't usually write as I feel like there isn't any point to it. I have mixed feelings about my English blog because I like it but I also hate it sometimes. Unfortunately, I am hating it right now so it is going to affect what I am writing now.

Let's not get to deep and just start with how this blog has helped me. Well, first of all, writing blogs has helped me think of what to write faster, even though I think most of the stuff that I write is kind of bullshit most of the time. Actually, all the time but it's still something to write about, so I guess that is counted as helping me? I am confused. Secondly, it has also forced me to do some research before writing about a topic, well, plagiarism happens here because I just wanna get over blogs sometimes but we don't talk about that. Besides that, it has helped me to read more about my friend, Chua's blog because he is a responsible guy who writes all the blogs that is required. I go to his blog from time to time to get inspiration ( and sometimes steal his ideas, not really). Moreover, I get to see what goes on in his mind and to be honest, it's very fun to read as his blogs are very 'interactive' so pay his blog a visit and it might even help you.

How I’m going to utilise my English period on Monday 25 February 2019.

I’m going to utilise my English period on Monday 25 February 2019 by doing my homework that I have been accumulating for some days or weeks, I don't remember. Since I am not involved in the English drama competition, I can spend my time doing some of the work so I don't accumulate more. That's basically all my plans for that period, it's only 1 hour and I can't do much in one hour because for some reason, homework takes me a lot of time to complete. This is probably because I procrastinate a lot. I should probably stop procrastinating but I am feeling demotivated every day. This is a sad story with an sad ending, and whoever read this until this part, please "unread" it so you wouldn't tell me about this. Thanks.

Malaysia is a multicultural country. Describe a festival you celebrate in Malaysia.

Malaysia is a multiracial country and with multiple races in this country, comes different celebrations and festivals. Examples for the festivals that we celebrate are Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and so much more. Different races celebrate different festivals and the festival that I celebrate is Chinese New Year.

Since I am Chinese, I celebrate Chinese New Year every year. It is our culture and we always follow it. When Chinese New Year comes, we will always go back to our home-town to celebrate. We will prepare a lot of delicious food for this festival and families will gather around for a reunion dinner.

Besides that, most of us get red packets from our elderly and parents. It is a sign of blessing for the elderly to give the young ones red packets. People who are married also give red packets. We also celebrate Chinese New Year by playing firecrackers. This tradition comes from an ancient myth. It said that the sound of firecrackers scared away a creature called "Nian". This myth is also the reason why people wear red clothing during this festival because it is said that the creature mentioned is afraid of the colour, red.

Chinese New Year is a festival that I personally enjoy and it has a lot of meanings. This festival brings families together and strengthen the bonds. It brings joy to people and other races also can enjoy this festival.

Discuss the plurality of the Malaysian society and its effect on you

Plurality in a country means a country that consists of people with different races, beliefs and traditions. Malaysia is a country with these aspects. These things have made Malaysia into a unique country because Malaysia is a multiracial country. The three main races in Malaysia are Malay, Chinese and Indian. All of us live coexist and live in a state of harmony even though our beliefs and traditions are different but we respect each other's uniqueness.

Many foreigners might be surprised when they visit Malaysia and see the plutalism we have here. It has even become one of the main attractions of Malaysia, which is to see different people with different races living together in peace. Our culture here has even mixed with each other and it has turned into an attraction for tourists too. There are so many types of food from different culture here in Malaysia and some of them are even from two separate races combined into one.

Some people might wonder how does it feel like to live in such country. As a Malaysian, I think it isn't any different from living in other parts of the world. Of course a lot of people would think living in a country with so many different races can teach us how to respect people more but I would have to disagree. Showing mutual respect is one of our core morals that we should have no matter what the situation is.

Besides that, some people would also say that living in a multiracial country will make us lean how to tolerate others. I agree with this opinion to some degree as it is easier for us to learn how to tolerate others when we are exposed to more differences but it is not necessarily from different cultures and races.

In conclusion, living in a country like Malaysia has not much impact on me, I don't know how accurate it is because I may be bias but I think I the only impact it has on me is I have to take more caution steps in life while living in Malaysia because I am not that privileged.

(Free) The Power of Our Thoughts

Mind power is one of the strongest power we possess and this power consists of your thoughts. The thoughts that pass through our mind are responsible for everything that happens in our life. Our thoughts influence our behavior and attitude and control our actions and reactions.

This is why we should be careful of what we think. Thoughts are like a video that plays on the screen of our mind. What we play there, determines the kind of life we live and the experiences we meet. To make changes in our life, we have to play a different video, one that we like more.

Besides that the power of thoughts is a creative power. We can train and strengthen this power and use it to make changes in our life, and also to influence other people's minds. Thoughts are just like seeds. If we plant seeds, water them, and give them fertilizers, they will grow into healthy and strong plants. They have a natural tendency to grow and manifest in our life, if we feed them with attention, interest and enthusiasm.

The power of our mind is part of the creative power of the Universe, which means that our thoughts work together with it. When we repeat the same thought over and again, in one way or another, this mighty power helps us make our thoughts come true.

My impression of Dear Mr Kilmer

When we received our Form 5, our English teacher told us to read the form 5 English novel "Dear Mr Kilmer". She told us to read it during the holidays but I procrastinated and only read it when school reopened. Whoops.

I finished the book in 2 days and I really like it. The story is about a boy named Richard Knight who likes to write poetry but it was considered taboo for boys to write poems during that time because people think poetries are for sissies. This novel is about Richard Knight's struggles to fit in and find his place within his village.

This novel has taught me that self- acceptance is very important because it will make yourself happier and more productive. This is shown in the novel when Richard Knight decided to show his poems to his class after Mr Kilmer replied to his letter about Richard's doubts about whether he should show his classmates his poem. He got tease for writing poems but he did not care about what other thinks and continue to do what he love.

In conclusion, "Dear Mr Kilmer" is a very interesting and meaningful story to read, I recommend this book to everyone that is struggling (or not) with themsleves and find the courage to be themselves through this book.

‘Ping.. My mobile phone lit up with a message from Pn. Monica....’ Write a story starting with the above sentence.

Ping.... my mobile phone lit up with a message from Pn. Monica. It was 5.00 am in the morning and I barely had enough sleep so I just ignored it as sleep is more important. After a few hours, I woke up and decided to read what was sent by Pn. Monica in the group chat.

I started to read the message, it said: Please attend to extra English class on this Sunday, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. After reading it, I was confused and started to ask why was it so sudden as the extra class starts tomorrow. The screen of my phone started to show that Pn. Monica was typing but suddenly she stopped. Some of my classmates started to ask questions too.

Everyone was confused and the group chat was flooded with hundreds of messages asking for details about the extra class. It was a mess until Pn. Monica sent an address and told us to go to the address. It was a weird address because when I search for it on Google, it showed a small shop with some abandoned buildings around it. I told the class about it and everyone was starting to feel suspicious. One person suggested to text Pn. Monica's daughter as some of us think that that isn't Pn. Monica herself.

It was considered weird for Pn. Monica to ask us to attend extra class because her teaching method doesn't require any extra class since it covers everything we need to know. After someone texted her daughter, he informed us that Pn. Monica has lost her phone and was currently reporting it to the police. Immediately, we kicked the number out of the group chat.

We told everything that happened to the real Pn. Monica by texting her daughter and she reported it to the police about it as well. Someone must have stole her phone on purpose and it might even be someone that knows her because it is weird for a stranger to know what Pn. Monica's is working as.

When school started on Monday, we were curious to know what had happened as we could've fell for the trap set by some mysterious person. During English period, Pn. Monica did not come into the class. We found out she had to take some days off because she broke her wrist. Guess we would have to wait for her to recover and come back to school to tell us what happened to the missing phone and who is that mysterious person. I hope he or she is identified and under arrest.
